IN THE ARTS

Born in Jakarta, Indonesia, and raised in Croatia, England and Montenegro, Vidak Radonjic began studying classical guitar at the age of six and quickly developed a lifelong passion for the instrument. After mastering some of the more demanding classical guitar repertoire, he gave his first public concert in London while still in high school. This was followed by numerous performances, including appearances in stage productions.

Vidak’s fascination with the speed, rhythm, and intensity of flamenco guitar led him to explore the more passionate side of his musical temperament. Finding the traditionally solo nature of classical guitar somewhat limiting, he sought new forms of musical expression through avant-garde performers, most notably the legendary flamenco guitarist Paco de Lucía, whose work profoundly influenced his musical development.

Beyond performing, Vidak has created and directed short films and music videos and has produced live entertainment shows and business conferences. For him, being on stage and sharing an experience with an audience is both energizing and inspiring.

Over the years, Vidak has performed with an accomplished group of international musicians, including Peruvian guitarist David Galvez; Turkish guitarist Bilgehan Tuncer; Montenegrin guitarists Darko Nikcevic and Srdjan Bulatovic; Korean violinist Sooyeon Jun; Serbian accordionist Petar Maric, aka Maestro Maric; and French-Romanian pianist and film composer Ionel Petroi.

His performances have taken place at venues ranging from prominent private clubs such as The Core Club to leading music and entertainment venues including The Cutting Room and City Winery in New York City, as well as the Blue Note in Beijing. In addition to classical and flamenco guitar, Vidak performs in rock, blues, jazz, and folk styles. His performances are often enhanced by exceptional artists from a variety of disciplines, including flamenco and contemporary dancers, ballet performers, rhythmic gymnasts, aerialists, and contortionists.

Vidak Radonjic has spent more than two decades in the investment-management industry.
